This is where info about the Chaoslab can be
found.
What is the Chaoslab
The Chaoslab is a java / applet based web application for exploring fractals,
chaos and other computer graphic phenomena. Not only can this be done but
the resulting images can be mapped and mixed up in a real time interactive
visual experience.
The Chaoslab is also an application which I am adding the final touches at
the moment. It will be available for purchase some time towards the end
of this year (2001). It has a much more expanded interface and has many
more features including the ablity to specifying any render resolution, input
images and also record user interactions.
Who made the Chaoslab
The Chaoslab was written by Cameron Mckechnie who can be
contacted from here.
He has a loving girl friend called Lisa who he could not possibly
thank enough for all the inspiration she has given him over the years, lives
with two loving cats called Houdini (beans man) and Zorro (the body) and a
loving not so little black and white rabbit called Lola.
He loves cacti, fungi, coral and all of natures weird and odd creations.
And finally one of his favorite past times is putting on laser shows
with his many lasers which some day he will use to draw fractals and strange
attractors on low passing clouds....
Why was the Chaoslab made?
When I first wrote the Chaoslab back in 1998 I never envisioned that it would
become what it has now. In the middle of this year I realised that I
needed a new web site and new visual software for doing live video presentations
at gig's and dance parties. My old real time visuals software Chaos
Painter had reached it's technical limit and I felt I had taken it to its
maximum potential.
Over the years fractals and chaos have been a great inspiration in my life.
And the joy of programming software to make fractals breath and move
like living creatures looking like something from merlins laboratory has
supplied many hours of fun, awe and inspiration.
When half way through 2000 I first conceived of the new Chaoslab and realized
what potential this would offer for exploring and mixing fractal eye candy
I had to code it just to play with it! Not because it was something
new but because it was a toy I wanted to have.
It gives me a great thrill to actually be able to share my dreams with people
and I knew this would be a step in the right direction.
Fractals and chaos are more than art to me, they are a reflection of the very
nature and life force of the universe - a gift from another dimension.
Who sponsor's the Chaoslab?
The Chaoslab is sponsored by Zero One who
host the Chaoslab web site....
Thank you so much Bruce, you still da man!
